This page explains what we do with the details you give us when you ask us for an estimate for a bench, and what is collected automatically while you are on the site.

Who we are

What we collect

When you fill in the bench form, you give us:

• your name, email address, phone number and delivery postcode;
• what the bench is for, how many seats you want, and the wording you would like carved into it.

Please only put on the form what you are happy for us to hold. The carving wording usually includes somebody's name, and sometimes their dates. We need it to price and make the bench, and we treat it with care.

While you are on the site, we also collect automatically:

• which pages you looked at, how you arrived, and roughly where in the country you are;
• your device and browser type;
• if you arrived by clicking one of our adverts, the reference the advert carried, so we can tell which adverts are worth paying for.

Why we use it, and on what basis

• To answer your enquiry and send your estimate. Without your details we cannot price the bench or get back to you. Our basis is that you asked us to, as a step towards a possible order.
• To run the business. Keeping a record of enquiries and orders. Our basis is our legitimate interest in running and keeping account of a small business.
• To measure our advertising and improve the site. Our basis is your consent, and only if you give it.

We will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing you did not ask for.

Cookies and measurement

We use Google Analytics and Google Ads, through Google Tag Manager, to see how the site is used and which adverts bring people to it. These set cookies. They do not run until you accept them. Until you do, measurement runs in a stripped-back mode that does not identify you and does not set advertising cookies.

Separately, your browser stores the advert reference for the length of your visit so that an enquiry can be matched to the advert that brought you here. It is cleared when you close the tab and it holds nothing that identifies you.

You can change your mind at any time, and you can clear or block cookies in your browser settings.

Who else sees it

Google, as the provider of the analytics and advertising tools above, and whoever provides our email. They act on our instructions and cannot use your details for their own purposes.

We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to other companies for their own marketing. We would only hand them over otherwise if the law required it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and to keep proper records of the work we have done, and then we delete them. If you order a bench, we keep the order record for as long as tax and accounting rules require. If you ask us to delete your details and we do not need them, we will.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop using it in a particular way, or withdraw your consent to measurement cookies. Email rusticwood@outlook.com and we will deal with it within a month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.

Changes

If we change how we use your details we will update this page and change the date at the top.
